Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch a whole new range of products in the next 12 months in the country.Nonetheless, the XA Alpha compact SUV is likely to be launched in the second half of 2015 and will compete against the Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster and Mahindra’s upcoming compact SUV (S101) in the segment.

Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) reported 32.87% growth in its total sales in July at 3,81,411 units. The company's total sales stood at 2,87,048 units in the corresponding month last year.

Honda has once again beaten Mahindra in the monthly car sales figures in India. In July 2014, Honda sold 15,709 cars while Mahindra could only sell 14,708 cars. This makes Honda the third largest car maker in India, after Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai, which occupy the first and second spots respectively.

With the large amount of options available in each segment, buyers are really spoilt for choice. Sadly, the Honda Brio doesn’t really feature in the list of vehicles liked by buyers. The hatchback has recorded an all-time low sales of just 74 units in the past month.

India’s leading auto maker, Maruti Suzuki India is planning to launch three completely new vehicles in India (other than Swift and Dzire facelifts) within next 12 months. Among the three new cars, mid-sized sedan, Ciaz would be first one to be launched in India followed by a light commercial vehicle and finally a compact SUV.

The Datsun Go+ MPV has been one of the most anticipated vehicles for this year. It is being anticipated that Datsun may offer GO+ MPV in five trims in India featuring - D, A, Option A, T and Option T variants. Launch date for the MUV has not been revealed for now, it is anticipated to be launched sometime later this year or early next year.

Sony launched the Xperia C3 alongside its dual-SIM variant, Xperia C3 Dual last month and had announced that both these smartphones would be globally announced in August. The Sony Xperia C3 has been listed by JD (via GSMArena), an online retailer in China, priced at CNY 1,999 (Rs. 19,600 approximately). Sony India has not yet listed either the Xperia C3 or the Xperia C3 Dual on its website.

Mitsui Chemicals reports a 27.6% fall in net profits for the fiscal first quarter ended 30 June, compared with the year-ago quarter, to ¥3.4 billion ($33 million). Sales in the first quarter increased 7.2%, to ¥389.2 billion due to an increase in sales volume with the improved production in the petrochemicals segment.

DENSO Corporation announced its global financial results for the first quarter ending June 30, 2014. Consolidated net income totaled 68.8 billion yen (US$678.7 million), a 20.1 percent decrease from the previous year. Consolidated net sales totaled 1,029.1 billion yen (US$10.2 billion), a 3.2 percent increase from the previous year.

MMC posted consolidated net sales of 513.8 billion yen over 1Q FY2014 (April 1 through June 30, 2014), a 25% or 104.4 billion yen increase over the same period last fiscal year.
